Samsung has unveiled the new Galaxy J6, which is its most affordable phone yet to support an Infinity Display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone comes in three color picks - golden, black and blue.

The phone comes packed within a typical Samsung styled box consisting of some quick manuals, a SIM ejector tool, a micro USB cable, a pair of basic earphones and a 5V-1A (5W) adapter with the major features of the phone printed at the back of it.
Unlock The Boundaries
“To Infinity And More.”

Though the price printed on the box reads Rs 14,990.00 but its official pricing is decided to be Rs 13,990.00. You can also get additional cash back of Rs 1,500 if you purchase it from Pay TM mall or through using ICICI Bank credit/debit cards making its effective price Rs 12,490. The phones also have a variant coming with 4GB RAM and 64 GB Storage priced at Rs.16, 490 but the effective price would be Rs14, 990. However, the handset supports only Indian SIM cards.
Dare To Do The Incredible

The Samsung Galaxy J6 mobile features a 5.6" (14.22 cm) display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1480 pixels and runs on Android v8.0 (Oreo) operating system. The device is paired with a 3 GB of RAM. The new Galaxy J6 is powered by Samsung's in-house Octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC, which is one of the most disappointing aspects of this mid-range offering. This processor has been Samsung's favorite choice for budget models for the past couple of years.
The Hype
“Infinity design, Live bezel free.”

Samsung is promoting the Galaxy J6 for its battery life. The 3000mAh capacity might look relatively low on the specifications sheet, but this phone manages great standby time. It lasts for an entire day on a full charge with regular use including a couple of hours of video streaming, which is on par with other options in the same price segment. However, charging is frustrating as it takes almost an hour to get to 40 percent, and more than 2.5 hours to touch the 100 percent mark. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE on either SIM at a time, so all SIM cards can take advantage of LTE calls.
There's also single-band (2.4GHz) Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, a 3.5mm headphone socket, and FM radio, but no NFC. Wi-Fi calling is also an option available in the Settings on supported network.
As has been seen with previous Galaxy J and Galaxy On-series smartphones, Samsung has skimped when it comes to the sensors. This phone only has a proximity sensor and accelerometer, and no ambient light sensor or gyroscope.
Introductory Features

One of the most amazing features of the phone is that of Chat-over-video, which means a transparent layer with a keyboard and a chat box is created and you can now chat even while you are watching some sort of videos or movies. Samsung has also provided an option to ZIP your apps in the phone. However you do not get the option of auto-brightness in the phone, however you may have an outdoor mode which boosts your phone's brightness. You also get a free 9-month screen replacement from Samsung. The phone also provide you with features like Samsung Pay mini and Samsung mall. . Another plus point for this budget offering is that the phone also comes with a face unlock feature giving it an edge to the rest of the J-series handsets. Talking about some of the best features amongst other J-series offering is that Samsung has used a 5.45-inch Super AMOLED panel with an HD+ resolution making the display crisp and accurate. The home screen gets a default weather and time widget on top, the Google search bar, and shortcuts to apps from Google and Microsoft. Swiping to the left reveals the Bixby Home screen that has a sizzling range of widgets and apps showing Facebook trends, your schedule, reminders, YouTube suggestions, weather information, news, and a lot more.
Looks Do Matter

The Galaxy J6 has a nice design, with a tall display, comfortable grip and the rear side is not metallic which means it doesn't pick up unnecessary smudges. It is 8.2mm thick, making it feel just about comfortable in hand. The front of the phone sports curved-edge 2.5D glass, which is another positive point for the J6 flagship. Talking about the sides of the phone, toward the right you will find the Power/Lock button, while the left side is kept a little busy consisting of a volume button, a SIM card slot and a memory card slot. Above the display, there's an 8-megapixel selfie camera, a selfie light and the earpiece. Below it, for the first time on a Samsung Galaxy J-series Smartphone, is no physical button. Instead, the Home, Back, and Overview buttons are all on screen.
Go Beyond A Good Shot

The camera has the same layout as that of Samsung galaxy S9. The single rear camera has a 13-megapixel sensor with an f/1.9 aperture. The intensity of the flash can also be monitored. Samsung has offered a variety o photo-modes including HDR mode and other modes such as Night, Beauty, Panorama, and Pro. As for the front, the Galaxy J6 has an 8-megapixel camera with the same f/1.9 aperture. A selfie light has been provided, which is not to be confused with an actual flash. Instead, it provides slightly better illumination to help cut down on noise in low light. Video recording has a full-HD (1080p) resolution limit, and autofocus is just okay. Videos are shaky in the absence of any kind of EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization). Audio is fairly loud and the speaker is not blocked when this phone is laying either face-up or face-down.
